Pfeiffer Men's Tennis Cruises Past William Peace, 9-0
Misenheimer, N.C. (April 23, 2023) – The Pfeiffer University men's tennis team had no trouble in their final USA South match of the season, downing visiting William Peace, 9-0 on Sunday afternoon at the Knapp Tennis Center.

THE BASICS
Starting in doubles play, the No. 3 team of
Andres Valdez-Arze and
Mateo Sonaglia gave the Falcons the early lead with an 8-0 lead.Â
Benedikt Pfeiffer and
Aleix Garrido won their No. 2 match 8-1 and at the No. 1 match,
Dylan Masters and
Laurin Rauer also had no trouble with their WPU counterparts in an 8-2 win.
The Falcons were equally as dominant in singles play, with Pfeiffer opening the matches with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No 2. Teammate
Bogdan Stan clinched the match for the Falcons with a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 4.
The Falcons also claimed straight-set wins in the remaining matches to take the 9-0 win.
BACK ON COURT
Pfeiffer has earned the No. 3 seed in the upcoming USA South Tournament and will host #6 seed William Peace on Monday, April 24 at 5:00 p.m. in the opening round at the Knapp Tennis Center.
