Misenheimer, N.C. (Sept. 6, 2023), -- The Pfeiffer University women's soccer team dropped a 4-1 home decision to visiting Bob Jones on a hot Wednesday afternoon at N.E. Lefko Field.
The loss dropped Pfeiffer's record to 0-3-0 overall.
How it Happened
Pfeiffer opened the scoring when Kelsy Esquivel scored her first goal of the season in the first minute of the match on an assist by Yasmin Flores-Perez.
The Bruins leveled the match on a goal from Gabriela Gonzalez in the 16th minute, assisted by Mia Marks.
BJU would go ahead 2-1 on Gonzalez's 28th-minute goal, assisted by Francesca Peters and Sylvia Cummings. The lead grew to 3-1 with a 45th-minute goal from Sylvia Cummings.
Bob Jones increased its lead to 4-1 on Elli Cummings' goal in the 88th minute, assisted by Sylvia Cummings.
