Falcons Earn Road Sweep at Mary Baldwin

Staunton, Va. (Oct. 12, 2024) --The Pfeiffer volleyball team walked away with a 3-0 win (25-17, 25-14, 25-23) over the Mary Baldwin Fighting Squirrels Saturday on the road in Staunton, Va.

The win improved the Falcons' record to 4-14 overall and 1-8 in USA South action.

Jada Thomas finished with eight kills on the day to lead the Falcons attack. got 14 digs from Gabby Edwards to lead them defensively.

Game Notes

» Madison Tate had a match-high two aces in the win.
» Pfeiffer never trailed on the way to winning the first set 25-17.
» Pfeiffer never trailed on the way to winning the second set 25-14.
» Pfeiffer rallied from being down by eight points to win the third set.
» Jada Thomas had a match-high eight kills for Pfeiffer.
» Pfeiffer got a match-high 14 digs from Gabby Edwards.
» Pfeiffer attackers were helped by a match-high 15 assists from Kylee Mayberry.

How It Happened

SET 1 | The Falcons won the first point and never trailed to secure the first set 25-17. Pfeiffer led by as many as 11 points at 23-12 before finishing off the set.

SET 2 | After their win in the first set, Pfeiffer put themselves on the cusp of a sweep with a 25-14 victory in set number two. The Falcons scored first and never trailed in the set to secure the victory. Pfeiffer opened up as much as an 11 point lead at 18-7 before closing out the set. The Pfeiffer offense also got a boost from four aces in the stanza.

SET 3 | Pfeiffer finished off the match in a 3-0 sweep after winning set three. The Falcons fell behind by eight points at 11-3 before fighting back to win 25-23. Pfeiffer jumped in front at 23-22 and hung on for the set win.
