Pfeiffer Men's Golf Takes Part in Guilford's O'Briant-Jensen Memorial

Greensboro, N.C. - (Oct. 30, 2024) – The Pfeiffer University men's golf team brought home an 11^th place finish at the traditionally strong field at the O'Briant-Jensen Memorial hosted by Guilford College at the Cardinal by Pete Dye in Greensboro, N.C.

The Falcons fared well against the field, which featured eight of the top-20 ranked teams in Division III and 12 ranked inside the top-50, finishing in 11^th place.

Led by a pair of freshman and three sophomores, the Falcons finished above Wittenburg (#37), Christopher Newport (#32) and Guilford's "B" team (#13).

Sophomore Connor Key paced Pfeiffer, completing play in a tie for 20^th place and firing a nine-over par 151 in the two day event.

Fellow sophomore Colin Phelps finished four strokes behind Key with a +13 (155).

Two Pfeiffer freshman, Eddie McDonald and Will Reynolds tied for 83^rd place, as they both shot a  164 (+22) in the field of 108 golfers.  McDonald and Reynolds were later named USA South Co-Rookies of the Week after their performance, being the top finishing rookies in league play.

Sophomore Wyatt Reeder rounded out the Falcon participants, carding a +23, 165 to finish in a tie for 90^th place.

Following play in the fall season, Pfeiffer is currently ranked 112^th nationally among Division III teams and also carries a No. 22 NCAA Regional Ranking.
