Winston-Salem, N.C. -- The Pfeiffer University women's soccer team snapped a six-match skid by blanking Salem College 1-0 on a sun-drenched Tuesday afternoon on the road in Winston-Salem, N.C.
The victory boosted Pfeiffer's record to 3-6 overall and 1-2 in USA South play while Salem fell to 4-6 overall and 0-4 in league play.
How it Happened
Pfeiffer sophomore Khamani Spencer scored her fifth goal of the season in the 29th minute, which proved to be the match-winner. Pfeiffer had several other opportunities throughout the match but could not cash in for additional goals.
The Falcon defense limited Salem to just three shots on goal while unleashing 10 shots on Marissa Doutrich, the Salem goalkeeper.
Pfeiffer's junior goalkeeper Kaylee Ollis earned the win while making one save.

The Falcons will return to play on Saturday, Oct. 12 when they host Meredith College in a 2:00 p.m. match at Lefko-Mills Field.
