Wingate, N.C. (Feb. 20, 2024) – No. 19 ranked Hampden-Sydney downed the Pfeiffer men's lacrosse team 15-7 at the Irwin Belk Stadium on the campus of Wingate University on Tuesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The visiting Tigers opened the game with four straight goals before Pfeiffer's
Tyler Finley and
Trent Orr scored back-to-back goals to cut the H-SC lead to 4-2. Hampden-Sydney added another goal to lead 5-2 after the first quarter.
Pfeiffer responded with two straight scores to open the second quarter, trimming the deficit to 5-4. Two more goals from the opposition pushed the H-SC lead back to 7-4. Pfeiffer's
Khyler Johnson scored the final goal of the first half to provide the 7-5 score at the break.
In the second half, Hampden-Sydney took control by scoring the first four goals to open the third quarter, extending their lead to 11-5. An
Evan Porter goal drew Pfeiffer to 11-6, that would be the closest Pfeiffer would get the rest of the way, with Hampden-Sydney taking the 15-7 win.

Quinn Becraft leading the way with six shots, four of which were on goal.
Tyler Grandinetti had a team-best seven ground balls on the evening and
Brandon Luft caused three turnovers.
