Pfeiffer Men's Tennis Grabs 8-1 Win Over Maryville College

Misenheimer, N.C. (Feb. 24, 2024)– The Pfeiffer University men's tennis team grabbed an 8-1 nonconference win over Maryville College at the Knapp Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon.

Pfeiffer – 1-2
Maryville – 0-3

THE BASICS
Pfeiffer swept all three doubles matches and five of the six contested singles matches to earn the win.

Andres Valdez-Arze clinched the win for the Falcons, taking his match at No. 6 singles over Maryville's Kaleb Burke by a 6-1, 6-2 final.

Graduate student Dylan Masters had no trouble in his 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles.  Pfeiffer's Matoe Songalia, Benedikt Pfeiffer, and Jayden Wellman also won their singles matches in straight sets.

BACK ON COURT
Pfeiffer will return to play on Wednesday, Feb. 28 with a road match at Hampden-Sydney College.  Match time is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
