Methodist Edges Pfeiffer Women's Tennis, 5-4
Misenheimer, N.C. (March 19, 2024)– The visiting Methodist University Monarchs edged Pfeiffer University in a USA South women's tennis match at the Knapp Tennis Center on Tuesday afternoon.

THE BASICS
Pfeiffer jumped on the visiting Monarchs early by taking two of the three contested doubles matches. The No. 1 team of
Alison Sloop and
Megan Rekieta too their match by an 8-6 score.Â
Haley Ingenito and
Kristen Colie also won their No. 3 match by an 8-6 final.
In singles play, Methodist won the matches at Nos. 1, 2, 5, and 6 to take the narrow 5-4 win.
Ingenito took her match at No. 3 for Pfeiffer, winning 7-5, 6-2 over MU's Caitlyn Thanovich.
Riley Isley won the other singles point for Pfeiffer at No. 4, winning a three-set outing, 6-7 (2-7), 6-4, 6-2.

Pfeiffer is scheduled to take on Johnson & Wales in nonconference play in their next match on Friday, March 23 at 10:00 a.m. in Charlotte, N.C.Â
