Box Score Pfeiffer Women's Tennis Wins on the Road Over JWU

Charlotte, N.C. (March 23, 2024)– The Pfeiffer University women's tennis team traveled to nearby Charlotte on Friday afternoon and dealt Johnson & Wales University a 7-2 nonconference tennis loss at the Tuckaseegee Recreation Center.

Pfeiffer – 9-3
Johnson & Wales – 4-6

THE BASICS
The visiting Falcons started strong with wins in each of the three doubles matches.  The No. 1 team of juniors Megan Rekieta and Alison Sloop had no trouble in their match, winning over their JWU opposition by an 8-0 count.

Caimbree Gann and Haley Ingenito won their match at No. 2 8-3 while Kristen Colie and Riley Isely took care of their No. 3 match by an 8-2 score.

In singles, Pfeiffer won four of the six contested matches, winning at the top four sports, all in straight sets. Rekieta would clinch the Pfeiffer win, as she claimed her match at No. 2 by a convincing 6-2, 6-0 final. 

Other winners for Pfeiffer included Gann (No. 1), Ingenito at No. 3 and Colie winning at No. 4.

The Next Match
The Falcons will return home to the Knapp Tennis Center for a 10:00 a.m. match with Piedmont University on Friday, March 29.
