Women's Tennis Wins Four Matches in Hilton Head to Remain Undefeated

Pfeiffer Women's Tennis Remains Undefeated Following Wins in Hilton Head

Misenheimer, N.C. (March 9, 2024)– The Pfeiffer University women's tennis team improved their dual match record to a perfect 7-0 after securing four wins during their annual spring break trip to Hilton Head, S.C.

Pfeiffer started the winning week with a 7-0 win over Mount Vernon Nazarene on March 3.  I that match Pfeiffer won all three doubles matches and five of the six singles matches in straight sets. Megan Rekieta and her opponent at No. 2 singles played to three sets, with Rekieta winning 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (10-4).

On March 4, Pfeiffer took their match over PSU Harrisburg by a 6-3 score.  In doubles Pfeiffer took the No. 2 and No. 3 matches.  Riley Isley and Caimbree Gann won their No. 2 match 8-5 while at No. 3, Kristen Colie and Haley Ingenito won 8-4.

In singles play, Gann (#1), Ingenito (#3), Alison Sloop (#5), and Kristen Colie (#6) took wins.

On March 6, Pfeiffer would earn the 7-2 win over Randolph College.

Against the WildCats, two of the three doubles matches wen the way of the Falcons, while Pfeiffer won five of the six singles matches.  Megan Rekieta and Alison Sloop were particularly dominant, with Rekieta winning her No. 2 match by a 6-0, 6-1 score and Sloop winning her No. 5 match 6-1, 6-0.

On Friday, March 8, The Falcons closed the week with a 7-2 win over Lancaster Bible College.

The Falcons took both contested doubles matches, winning 8-1 and No. 1 and 8-0 at No. 2.  In singles play, Pfeiffer's Ingenito (#1), Kristen Colie (#2) and Ryley Gray (#3) would win their singles matches, all in straight sets

Pfeiffer will now turn their focus to opening USA South play, as they travel to Southern Virginia on March 13 for a 3:00 p.m. match with the Knights.
