Pfeiffer Women's Tennis Opens Season With Split Against Piedmont & LaGrange
Demorest, Ga. (Sept. 20, 2024)– The Pfeiffer University women's tennis came away with a split in the season-opening matches of the 2024-25 season, falling at Piedmont University while defeating LaGrange College on Friday in Demorest, Ga.

THE BASICS vs. Piedmont
The Falcons dropped the opening match to the host Lions by a 6-1 score. Piedmont won the doubles point by taking all three matches and then was able to take five of the six singles matches.
Pfeiffer's
Sydney Cohen earned the lone point for the Falcons, as she took her match at No. 3 singles over Piedmont's Caroline Morrison by a 6-1, 3-6, 1-0 score. Cohen secured the match with a 10-7 edge in the tie breaker.
THE BASICS vs. LaGrange
Pfeiffer rebounded by taking the easy 7-0 win over LaGrange. The Falcons won both of the contested doubles matches, each by 6-0 scores.
In singles play,
Fanny Apostolou easily took down her opponent in the No. 2 match, winning 6-0, 6-0. Kristin Colie (No. 4) and
Riley Isley (No. 5) also won their matches by identical 6-0, 6-0 scores.
Alison Sloop won 6-1, 6-0 in her No. 3 match while sophomore
Haley Ingenito took the No. 1 match 6-2, 6-1.
The Next Match
The Falcons will hit the road for their next dual match of the fall on Wednesday, Sept. 25 when they travel to ODAC foe Guilford College for a 3:00 p.m. match.
