FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (Oct. 15, 2025) — Methodist University scored five first-half goals en route to a dominant 5–0 victory over Pfeiffer University in USA South Athletic Conference women's soccer action Wednesday evening at Duggins Soccer Stadium.
The Monarchs (3-2-6, 2-2-2 USA South) wasted no time asserting control, netting all five goals in the opening 25 minutes. Haley Cousins led the charge with a pair of goals, including the game-winner in the 7th minute off a rebound from a Gabby Riemer shot. Cousins added her second tally in the 20th minute, finishing a corner kick from Brynn Ludka.
Amelia Millard doubled the lead in the 11th minute, converting a pass from Ludka after a set piece. Ludka then scored one of her own just two minutes later, assisted again by Riemer. Emy Cloutier capped the scoring with a penalty kick in the 26th minute.
Pfeiffer (1-9-1, 1-4-1 USA South) struggled to generate offense, managing just four shots and one on goal. Goalkeeper
Kaylee Ollis recorded two saves on 16 shots faced.
Jules Lanuto registered Pfeiffer's lone shot on goal in the 86th minute.
Methodist's defense held firm, allowing only one shot on goal and earning a combined shutout between goalkeepers Kaylea Carter and Sabrina Nassar. Carter played the majority of the match, while Nassar entered in the 81st minute and made one save.
The Falcons will return to Lefko-Mills Field on Saturday, Oct. 18 for a home USA South match against Southern Virginia. Kickoff in the annual Breast Cancer Awareness Match is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
