Pfeiffer Women's Tennis Sweeps Satruday Matches to Improve to 2-0
Ashland, Va. (Oct. 4, 2025) — Pfeiffer University's women's tennis team continued its strong start to the season with back-to-back 4-0 victories over Randolph-Macon and Salem College on Saturday at the Banks Tennis Center on the campus of Randolph-Macon
In the morning match, Pfeiffer (2-0) dominated Randolph-Macon (1-1), winning two of three doubles matches and sweeping all completed singles contests.
Sydney Cohen led the way with a commanding 6-0, 6-0 win over Salom Tchantouridze at No. 3 singles.
Riley Isley and
Claire Germain also picked up straight-set victories at No. 5 and No. 6 singles, respectively.
The Falcons carried their momentum into the afternoon match against USA South Salem College (0-3) in a nonconference match, sweeping all three doubles matches without dropping a game in the top two flights.
Singles play saw sophomore
Fanny Apostolou cruise to a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 2, while Isley and Germain again delivered straight-set wins at No. 5 and No. 6.
Several singles matches in both contests were left unfinished due to Pfeiffer clinching the team victory early.
The Falcons will return to play on Oct. 7 with a home match against Johnson & Wales. First serve is scheduled for a 5:00 p.m. start at the Knapp Tennis Center.
