Pfeiffer Men's Tennis Opens With 4-3 Road Win at Roanoke
SALEM, Va. (Oct. 8, 2025) — Pfeiffer University opened its 2025 men's tennis season with a 4-3 victory over Roanoke College on Wednesday afternoon at the Elizabeth Campus Courts.

Aden Burgoyne and senior
Javier Robles Solis led the charge with a dominant 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles, while
Hugo Kezen and
Jayden Wellman matched the score at No. 3.Â
In singles play, Pfeiffer clinched the match with wins at the No. 1, No. 5, and No. 6 positions. Wellman earned a win by retirement over Luis Henriquez at the top spot after leading 6-4. Kezen cruised past Julio Marques 6-2, 6-2 at No. 5, and Stan delivered a commanding 6-2, 6-0 victory over Jackson Wagner at No. 6.
Roanoke (0-1) battled back with wins at No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4 singles. Federico Maccari outlasted Mukhambetov in straight sets, 6-4, 7-6. Emiliano Ramirez rallied to defeat Robles Solis in a third-set super tiebreak, and Nolan Macedo overwhelmed Burgoyne 6-0, 6-1.
The Falcons will return to the court on Oct. 25 with a road match at Randolph-Macon.
