Misenheimer, N.C. (March 7, 2025)
– The Pfeiffer University men's basketball NCAA Tournament games will be broadcasted locally on Magic 103.3 WZKY and on their 1580 AM frequency.

Pfeiffer will square off against Roanoke College in the first round of the NCAA Tournament at the Freeman Center on the campus of Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Va.

Charles Curcio will have the call and will be joined by K.C. Culler, Pfeiffer's Assistant AD for Athletic Communications.  Airtime will be at 3:45 pm with the tip to be at approximately 4:00 p.m.

Matt Smith, owner and general manager of Stanly Communications, who made the broadcast possible says, "We are proud of our hometown team in the Pfeiffer Falcons and look forward to providing coverage of their run in the NCAA Tournament."

The Falcons (18-7) won the USA South regular season title by going 11-2 in league play.  They followed that by winning the USA South Tournament, downing Mary Baldwin 90-64 in the semifinals and N.C. Wesleyan 108-80 in the championship game.  This marks the sixth NCAA Tournament appearance for the Falcons and first in Pfeiffer's Division III era.  Pfeiffer also made seven NAIA postseason appearances in the 1980s and 1990s.

Pfeiffer rolled through USA South play, finishing 11-2 in league play, with the losses coming by a combined four points.  The Falcons were especially tough in Merner Gym, as they posted a 12-2 overall record and a perfect 9-0 against USA South teams.

Pfeiffer's Daymon Beckwith earned All-USA South honors and captured the USA South Tournament MVP while teammate Doug Smith also earned All-USA South first team plaudits.  Senior's Alex Cunningham and Jaylen Hamilton also had a stellar USA South Tournament and were named to the All-Tournament team.

The Falcons will take on Roanoke College, who finished 23-5 overall and 14-2 in ODAC play. The Maroons received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament despite falling to Guilford College in the ODAC Championship game by a 79-74 score on Sunday, March 2.

Tickets for the NCAA First and Second Round at CNU's Freeman Center will be $15 for chairback seats and $10 for general admission and are available online at GoFalconSports.com
