Pfeiffer Wins Third Consecutive USA South Men's Lacrosse Title
Misenheimer, N.C. (May 3, 2025) – The Pfeiffer University men's lacrosse team claimed their third straight USA South championship by downing Methodist University 18-3 at Lefko-Mills Field on Saturday afternoon.
All told, Pfeiffer has won four of the past five USA South Tournament crowns.

HOW IT HAPPENED
For the second straight USA South Tournament game, Pfeiffer dominated the first half, with the Falcons jumping out to a 4-0 lead at the end of the first quarter and adding seven more to take the 11-0 lead into halftime.
The Falcon lead would get to 13-0 before Methodist found their first goal at the 4:10 mark to make it 13-1. The Monarchs added another at 2:51 to bring the score to 13-2.
Pfeiffer then responded by scoring the first five goals of the fourth quarter to extend the lead to 18-2. Methodist closed the scoring with a goal at 1:04 of the final quarter to provide the 18-3 final score.

Inside the Box Score
Eight different players scored for Pfeiffer, with
Mason Tardiff leading the way with four goals. Tardiff also had one assist to finish with five points.
Khyler Johnson,
Andrew Brown and
Trent Orr scored three goals each while
Dylan Sullivan scored twice. Brown supplied two assists and finished with five points.
Zach Gignac,
Chase Benton and
Ethan Miles scored one goal each to cap the Falcon scoring. Miles had a team-high four assists on the afternoon, as he also finished with five points.
Pfeiffer's defensive pressure was smothering, as Methodist finished with 22 turnovers, with Pfeiffer causing 12 Monarch miscues. Pfeiffer also scooped 38 ground balls and finished 14-of-24 on faceoffs.
As a team, Pfeiffer set a new USA South Tournament record limiting Southern Virginia and Methodist to a combined seven goals. The previous record was set in the inaugural tournament in 2018 when Huntingdon allowed just nine scores over two games.
Pfeiffer goalkeeper
Korbin Hamilton was a force over the two tournament games, as he made 15 saves in the 20-4 semifinal win over Southern Virginia and 11 stops against Methodist on his way to winning tournament MVP honors.
