Volleyball Falls to George Fox at Covenant Classic

George Fox Sweeps Pfeiffer Volleyball in Season Opener at the Covenant Classic

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. (Aug. 29, 2025) — George Fox opened its season with a commanding straight-set victory over Pfeiffer, winning 25-21, 25-10, 25-13 on Friday at the Barnes PE Center on the campus of Covenant College.

The Bruins (1-0) dominated both offensively and defensively, led by Addison Goff, who tallied 7 kills and 9 points, and Allaire Gilder, who contributed 5 kills and a match-high 6 total blocks. George Fox posted a .152 hitting percentage and recorded 29 kills as a team.

Alexis Baer added 7 kills on a .375 hitting clip, while Gracie Bearden anchored the back row with 15 digs and chipped in 6 kills. Setter Mikaila Kronholm facilitated the offense with multiple assists and helped the Bruins capitalize on Pfeiffer's errors.

Pfeiffer (0-1) struggled to find rhythm, hitting -.061 for the match and committing 23 attack errors. Abby Lewis led the Falcons with 5 kills, while Gabby Edwards paced the defense with 15 digs.

George Fox controlled the tempo from the start, jumping out to early leads in each set and never trailing in the final frame. The Bruins out-blocked Pfeiffer 7-4 and served up 7 aces, including two from Goff.

The match featured five ties and two lead changes, both occurring in the second set.

The Falcons will look to regroup on Saturday afternoon, as they will take on Spalding at 3:00 p.m. and host Covenant at 5:30 p.m.
