Pfeiffer University Hosts Competitive Women's 5K at 2025 Invitational

Misenheimer, N.C. — (September 12, 2025) - Pfeiffer University welcomed a dozen collegiate teams to its home course for the annual Pfeiffer University Cross Country Invitational, showcasing a strong field in the women's 5K race. The event, held under ideal evening conditions, featured standout performances and tight team battles.

Pfeiffer placed 5th overall out of 12 teams, scoring 140 points with a team average of 23:29 and a spread of 3:03. The Falcons demonstrated depth and consistency across their scoring runners.

Top Pfeiffer Finishers

• Ryan Germain (SO) led the Falcons, finishing 14th overall with a time of 21:46.6.
• Hayley Borst (JR) followed closely, placing 24th in 22:50.4.
• Makayla Borst (JR) secured 30th in 23:43.7.
• Katelyn Lentz (JR) and Brionna Saunders (SO) rounded out the scoring five, finishing 33rd and 39th, respectively.

Freshman Lily Bolz also contributed with a solid effort, placing 51st in 28:06.2.

Meet Highlights

• Winthrop University claimed the team title with 32 points, led by a tight pack finishing 2nd through 5th.
• Meredith College's Delaney Bundy took the individual crown with a blazing time of 18:31.0, nearly a minute ahead of the next finisher.

  Pfeiffer will return to race at the NCAA Division III Pre-Nationals on Saturday, Sept. 20 at the site of the 2025 NCAA Division III Championships (Roger Milliken Center) in Spartanburg, S.C.
