Misenheimer, N.C. (Sept. 12,2025) — Pfeiffer University opened its women's tennis season on Thursday afternoon at the Knapp Tennis Center, falling 7-0 to visiting Anderson University in an exhibition match.

Despite the final score, the Falcons showed competitive spirit across several courts.

Sophomore Fanny Apostolou and junior Haley Ingenito battled in doubles, dropping a tight 6-3 match to Anderson's Kate Johnson and Gigi Sompayrac. In singles, Apostolou pushed Anderson's Mara Opre in both sets, falling 6-2, 6-2 in one of the day's more competitive matches.

Claire Germain and Gracie Spangler also showed resilience in singles play, each managing to win games against their Anderson opponents. 

Pfeiffer will return to play on Sunday, Sept. 21 with another home exhibition match, taking on Piedmont University at 10:00 a.m.
