Browning Scores First Career Goal in Setback to Carolina University
MISENHEIMER, N.C. (Sept. 20, 2025) — Pfeiffer University's women's soccer team showed second-half fight but couldn't overcome a fast start by Carolina University, falling 5-1 Saturday afternoon at a sweltering Lefko-Mills Field.
Carolina U (1-6-2) struck early and often, netting three goals in the first 26 minutes, including a pair from Natalie Puskar, who finished with a hat trick and an assist. Alexa Anderson added a goal in the 13th minute, helping the Bruins take a commanding 3-0 lead into halftime.
Pfeiffer (0-6) responded in the 61st minute when freshman
Corinne Browning scored her first collegiate goal off a feed from fellow freshman
Quinn Branca, trimming the deficit to 3-1. The Falcons' momentum was short-lived, however, as the Bruins added two more goals in the final 10 minutes to seal the win.
Senior goalkeeper
Kaylee Ollis made three saves for Pfeiffer, facing 14 shots, including nine on goal. The Falcons managed seven shots, three on target, and earned two corner kicks in the first half.
The Falcons will jump into USA South play with a 6:00 p.m. home match on Tuesday, Sept. 23 against William Peace University.
