Pfeiffer Men's Cross Country Fifth at NCAA Div. III Pre-Nationals
Spartanburg, S.C. (Sept. 20, 2025) - The Pfeiffer University men's cross country team claimed a fifth-place finish at the NCAA Division III Pre-Nationals Event held at the Roger Milliken Center in Spartanburg, S.C.
Pfeiffer scored 156 points to place fifth in the team standings behind sixth-ranked North Central (59 points), 17th-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (63 points), 18th-ranked Washington & Lee (82 points) and #27th-ranked Case Western Reserve (121) .
A total of 13 teams competed
in the men's 8K race on Saturday
Leading the way was Senior
Sawyer Helms, who finished 12
th with a time of 25:16.6. Freshman Jorge Clemente Garcia was close behind finishing 21
st with a time of 25:31. Junior
Cannon Powell also ran strong finishing 28
th with a time of 25:43.9.
Sophomore
Bricen Burleson 42nd in a time of 26:21.8 and
Ezequiel Cannas 59
th in a time of 26:56.5, rounded out the team scoring.
Camden Misenheimer 74th in 27:21 and
Alim Coleman 75th in 27:25 rounded out the Varsity Top 7.
With their fifth-place showing, Pfeiffer was able to post a top-5 average time of 25:57.
Pfeiffer will return to run in the Louisville Classic on Saturday, Oct. 4.
