Rocky Mount, N.C. (Sept. 27, 2025) — Sophomore
Wesley Hooker scored in the third minute and goalkeeper
Seth Limbert recorded six saves as Pfeiffer University held off N.C. Wesleyan for a 1–0 road victory Saturday afternoon at Scalf Field.
The win keeps the Falcons (8-0, 1-0 USA South) unbeaten on the season, with Hooker netting his seventh goal of the year off a corner sequence just three minutes into the match. The win also snaps an eight-match skid against NCWU and is the first Pfeiffer win over the Battling Bishops since reclassifying to Division III in 2017.
Pfeiffer managed seven shots, three on goal, and held firm despite playing the final 25 minutes down a player.
Limbert was stellar in goal, stopping three shots in each half to preserve the shutout. N.C. Wesleyan (2-7, 0-1) matched Pfeiffer with seven shots but couldn't find the equalizer despite a late push.
Pfeiffer will continue USA South play on Tuesday, Sept. 30 in Fayetteville, N.C. when they take on Methodist University at 7:00 p.m.
