Greensboro Edges Pfeiffer 1–0 on Second-Half Penalty Kick

Misenheimer, N.C. (Sept. 27, 2025) — Greensboro College converted a penalty kick in the 74th minute from Shae Brennan to lift the Pride past Pfeiffer University 1–0 in USA South Athletic women's soccer play on Saturday afternoon at Lefko-Mills Field.

Despite the loss, Pfeiffer (1-6-0, 1-1-0 USA South) showed resilience on defense, with goalkeeper Kaylee Ollis recording four saves on 21 shots faced. Greensboro (5-3-2, 1-1-0) outshot the Falcons 21–6, including a 5–3 edge in shots on goal.

Brennan's goal came after an apparent hand ball violation in the box.  The goal washer first of the season. She led all players with seven shots, three of which were on target.

Pfeiffer's best scoring chance came in the 60th minute when Quinn Branca's shot struck the crossbar. Lily Bido also tested Greensboro's keeper Shyann Hansen with a shot in the 55th minute, but Hansen made one of her two saves to preserve the shutout.

Pfeiffer will return to USA South play on Saturday, Oct. 4 with a 2:00 p.m. road match at N.C. Wesleyan.
