Pfeiffer Sets Three School Records at ECE Banked is Best InvitationalĀ
MISENHEIMER, N.C. (Jan. 31, 2026) ā Pfeiffer University posted a standout weekend on the indoor track and field circuit, highlighted by three school records and more than a dozen all-time top-10 program marks as they took part in the ECE Banked is Best Invitational at the Tryon International facility for the first time on Friday, Jan. 30.
Bricen Burleson led the Falcons with a record-setting performance in the men's 800 meters, clocking 1:54.93 to finish second overall in the event. Burleson also turned in a strong showing in the 3,000 meters, placing ninth with a time that ranks fourth in school history at 8:49.85.
Cannon Powell added another school record on the track, breaking the Pfeiffer mark in the men's 5,000 meters with a time of 15:18.29, good for sixth place at the meet.
In the field events,
Jayden Carter set a new women's triple jump school record, landing at 11.17 metersĀ to finish 14th.
The Falcons also collected multiple top-10 finishes. Jordan Jones placed fourth in the men's 60 meters, matching his own school record in the process. The men's distance medley relay of
Sam Head,
Owen Deaton,
Fabian Candela-Godinez and
Oliver Candela-Godinez ran 11:10.84 to finish fifth, while the women's quartet of
Ryan Germain,
Mesiyah Howell,
Katelyn Lentz and
Makayla Borst took fourth in 14:06.12.
Pfeiffer athletes also turned in several all-time top-10 program performances:
