GREENSBORO, N.C. (Oct. 3, 2026) – Seniors
Benji Landaverde and
Alex Michael each scored second-half goals as Pfeiffer University rallied twice to earn a 2-2 draw against Greensboro College in a USA South Conference men's soccer match Saturday at Pride Field.
Pfeiffer (4-3-2, 0-2-1 USA South) outshot Greensboro 15-9 and generated nine shots on goal, overcoming deficits of 1-0 and 2-1 to secure the road result.
Greensboro (6-0-3, 1-0-1 USA South) opened the scoring in the 15th minute when Gustav Ohman found the net off an assist from Axel Garcia, giving the Pride a 1-0 advantage heading into halftime.
The Falcons responded quickly after the break. Just 1:41 into the second half, Landaverde scored his fourth goal of the season to level the match at 1-1.
Pfeiffer continued to apply pressure, creating several quality chances through
Wesley Hooker and
Barrett Owens, but Greensboro goalkeeper Alvaro Arroyo turned away multiple attempts to keep the match tied.
The Pride regained the lead in the 58th minute when defender Kayden Brimah scored his first goal of the year to make it 2-1.
Refusing to go away, Pfeiffer found the equalizer late in regulation. With just over four minutes remaining, Michael scored his second goal of the season, knotting the match at 2-2 in the 86th minute.
The Falcons nearly found a winner moments later, but Arroyo made a save on a shot by Michael in the 88th minute.
Hooker led Pfeiffer with six shots, including two on goal, while Landaverde, Michael and Owens each placed two shots on frame.
Seth Limbert recorded four saves in goal for the Falcons.
Pfeiffer held advantages in shots (15-9), shots on goal (9-6) and corner kicks (9-2), controlling much of the attacking play throughout the afternoon.
