MISENHEIMER, N.C. (Oct. 7, 2026) — Pfeiffer scored twice in each half and dominated possession throughout a 4-1 nonconference men's soccer victory over Virginia State. on Wednesday night at Lefko-Mills Field.
The Falcons improved to 5-3-2 on the season behind a balanced offensive attack that produced four goals from four different players and a commanding 24-3 advantage in total shots. Pfeiffer also held a 10-2 edge in shots on
goal and earned 10 corner kicks.
The Falcons wasted little time getting on the scoreboard. Freshman
Tyler Ridley found the back of the net in the fourth minute off a deflection from
Barrett Owens for a 1-0 lead at the 3:46 mark.
Pfeiffer continued to apply pressure throughout the opening half and doubled its advantage in the 35th minute when senior
Alex Michael scored off an assist from
Drew Garro. The Falcons carried a 2-0 lead into halftime after outshooting the Trojans 14-0 in the opening 45 minutes.
VSU would cut the deficit in half early in the second half when Isaiah Sims scored in the 51st minute off an assist from Everett Saunders.
The Falcons quickly answered as Owens restored the two-goal cushion in the 61st minute on a setup from Garro and
Wesley Hooker, making the score 3-1. Owens finished with a goal and an assist, while Garro recorded two assists on the evening..
Pfeiffer put the match away in the closing minutes after Virginia State was reduced to 10 men following a red card in the 87th minute. Less than three minutes later,
Aiden Dualan scored his first goal of the season and the second of his Pfeiffer career, off an assist from
Adrian Carmona to cap the scoring at 4-1.
Defensively, freshman goalkeeper Kian Fuertado-Morgan made one save for the Falcons, who limited the Trojans to just three total shots.
For Virginia State (1-7-2), goalkeeper Elijah Fernandez recorded six saves despite facing constant pressure from a Pfeiffer attack that generated 24 shots.
