Men's Tennis Rolls Over Bridgewater, 7-0

BRIDGEWATER, Va. (Feb. 25, 2026) — Pfeiffer University men's tennis delivered a commanding performance on the road Wednesday, sweeping Bridgewater 7–0 at the Mapp-Whitelow Tennis Courts to improve to 4–1 on the season.

The Falcons set the tone early by sweeping all three doubles courts. At No. 1 doubles, Jayden Wellman and Valter Albuquerque teamed up for a decisive 6–1 win. Over on Court 2, Hugo Kezen and Aissultan Mukhambetov controlled play en route to a 6–2 victory, while the No. 3 pairing of Aden Burgoyne and Aristi van Bergeijk closed out another strong performance with a 6–2 result to secure the doubles point.

In singles action, Pfeiffer swept all six matches in straight sets. Albuquerque rolled at No. 1 with a 6–3, 6–1 win, while Mukhambetov dominated No. 2 singles 6–0, 6–0. Wellman kept the momentum going at No. 3 with another clean 6–0, 6–0 decision.

The Falcons continued to overwhelm Bridgewater in the lower lineup. Bogdan Stan won convincingly at No. 4, 6–0, 6–0, before Aden Burgoyne added a 6–1, 6–2 victory at No. 5. Rounding out the sweep, Javier Robles Solis delivered a dominant 6–0, 6–0 effort at No. 6 singles.

Pfeiffer will return to play on Saturday, Feb. 28 with a 2:00 p.m. road match at Maryville College.
