Pfeiffer Takes Road Sweep at Bridgewater
BRIDGEWATER, Va. (Feb. 25, 2026) — Pfeiffer University extended its perfect start to the season with a dominant 7–0 road sweep of Bridgewater on Wednesday afternoon at the Mapp-Whitelow Tennis Courts.
Pfeiffer (6–0) took complete control from the outset, earning the doubles point behind three convincing wins. The No. 1 duo of
Fanny Apostolou and
Haley Ingenito cruised to a 6–1 victory, while
Sydney Cohen and
Riley Isley matched the scoreline on Court 2. At No. 3 doubles,
Kristen Colie and
Gracie Spangler completed the sweep with a 6–0 shutout.
The Falcons carried that momentum into singles play, winning all six matches in straight sets. Apostolou dominated at No. 2 singles, posting a 6–0, 6–0 win without dropping a game. At No. 1, Ingenito delivered a steady 6–3, 6–1 victory. Cohen followed with a strong 6–3, 6–1 performance on Court 3.
Pfeiffer's depth proved overwhelming. Spangler claimed a 6–1, 6–1 win at No. 4, while
Claire Germain secured a 6–0, 6–1 result at No. 5. Rounding out the sweep,
Aubrie Gatz handled No. 6 singles with a decisive 6–1, 6–0 finish.
Bridgewater (0–3) was unable to break through at any position, falling in all nine matches as Pfeiffer continued to demonstrate why it remains one of the region's most consistent early-season performers.
