MARIETTA, Ga. (Feb. 8, 2026) — Bashwyn Fitch buried the game-winner 1:47 into overtime as Pfeiffer downed Rhodes 14-13 in a back-and-forth nonconference men's lacrosse thriller Sunday on the campus of Life University in Marietta, Georgia.
Fitch finished with two goals—including the decisive strike—and one assist, capping a comeback effort after Pfeiffer surrendered a fourth-quarter lead but forced overtime on an
Ethan Miles goal with four seconds left in regulation.
Trent Orr and
Dylan Sullivan paced the Falcons (1-0) with three goals apiece. Miles added two goals and two assists, and
Tiger Hopkins posted a game-high five assists to go with a goal. Pfeiffer capitalized on special-teams opportunities, going 4-for-6 on extra-man chances.
Rhodes (0-1) was led by Gavin Nagle's hat trick and two assists. Wyatt Bounds also scored three times, and Andrew Murphy added two goals for the Lynx, who outshot Pfeiffer 54–39 and dominated the faceoff X behind Burke Wade's 20-for-27 performance.
The teams traded five goals apiece in a frantic first quarter, and Pfeiffer built a 9-7 lead late in the second. Rhodes rallied to go ahead 13-12 on Bounds' second-straight goal with 8:08 left in the fourth before Miles tied it at 13-13 in the final seconds to force overtime.
Goalkeeper
Korbin Hamilton anchored Pfeiffer with 18 saves, including two in overtime before Fitch's winner. Rhodes split time in net between Jason Rubinstein and Blake Jeska, who combined for 12 saves.
The Falcons will return to play on Tuesday, Feb. 10 with a 5:00 p.m. road game at Montreat College.
