BUENA VISTA, Va. (March 13, 2026) — Ethan Miles scored six goals and Pfeiffer exploded for nine first-quarter tallies to defeat Southern Virginia 16–12 on Friday in a USA South men's lacrosse matchup at Knights Stadium
Miles was dominant from the opening whistle, scoring twice in the first minute-and-a-half and adding two more in the period as the Falcons (6–2, 2–0 USA South) built a 9–3 lead after one. Pfeiffer also got a short-handed goal from
Trent Orr in the final minute of the quarter.
The Falcons never trailed, maintaining at least a three-goal cushion the rest of the way despite several Southern Virginia surges. Pfeiffer led 11–6 at halftime and pushed the margin to 14–8 late in the third.
Orr finished with two goals and an assist, while
Bashwyn Fitch added two second-half goals.
Davis Palombo chipped in a goal and two assists, and
Tiger Hopkins scored once and assisted twice.
Goalkeeper
Robert Hanlon made 17 saves while facing 55 shots for Pfeiffer.
Southern Virginia (2–5, 1–1) was led by Myles Nielson's four goals and two assists, while Clay Haacke added three goals.
Pfeiffer out-shot the Knights 43–55 but placed 33 on target and won 19 of 31 faceoffs. The Falcons also capitalized on two man-up opportunities and added a short-handed score.
With the win, Pfeiffer extends their regular-season USA South unbeaten streak to 20 straight games and has also won their last 26 games against USA South opponents dating back to 2023.
The Falcons will return to Lefko-Mills Field on Tuesday, March 17 for a 1:00 p.m. nonconference game with Illinois Wesleyan.
