Pfeiffer Men's Tennis Downs Division II Belmont Abbey, 4-3
MISENHEIMER, N.C. (March 19, 2026) — The Pfeiffer men's tennis team took a 4-3 win over Division II Belmont Abbey on a chilly Wednesday afternoon at the Knapp Tennis Center
Belmont Abbey (11-12) jumped ahead early by taking the doubles point. The Crusaders' top pair of Jack Joshua and Jack McGregor earned a 6–4 win on Court 1, while Jesus Espinoza and Gianni Russo added a 6–3 victory on Court 2. Pfeiffer answered with a win on Court 3, where
Aissultan Mukhambetov and
Bogdan Stan posted a 6–1 result, but the Falcons (10–2) entered singles trailing 1–0.
Pfeiffer quickly shifted momentum in singles.
Jayden Wellman delivered a straight-sets win at No. 3 (6–4, 6–2), and
Bogdan Stan followed with a comeback at No. 4, prevailing 4–6, 6–2, 10–4.
Hugo Kezen added another point for the Falcons at No. 5, rallying for a 7–6 (7-2), 6–3 victory.
Aden Burgoyne then clinched the match for Pfeiffer at No. 6, earning a 4–6, 6–3, 10–8 win.
Belmont Abbey recorded singles victories at the top two positions. Aarav Hada took a tight match at No. 1, winning 3–6, 6–3, 10–7, while Sullivan Monteith claimed the No. 2 flight 6–2, 1–6, 10–1.
Although the Crusaders claimed the doubles point and two singles matches, Pfeiffer's depth in the lower flights proved decisive as the Falcons closed out the 4-3 team win.
The win improves the Falcons to 10-2 on the season.
Pfeiffer will begin USA South play with a March 25 road match at William Peace.
