Men's Lacrosse Rolls Over Greensboro, 18-9

MISENHEIMER, N.C. (March 21, 2026) — Pfeiffer University poured in five goals in each of the final three quarters and pulled away from rival Greensboro College for an 18–9 win Saturday afternoon at Lefko-Mills Field.

Tiger Hopkins and Will Rivera powered the Falcons' explosive offensive showing, combining for 10 goals and six assists. Hopkins finished with five goals, including three on the man-advantage, while Rivera matched him with five goals and three assists of his own.

Pfeiffer (8-2, 3-0 USA South) broke a 3–3 tie after the first quarter by outscoring Greensboro 5–3 in the second. Hopkins' man-up strike at 12:40 of the period jump-started a 5–2 run, and Dylan Sullivan added a late goal with 12 seconds left to send the Falcons into halftime up 8–6.

The Falcons dominated possession and faceoffs throughout the middle quarters, winning 18 of 29 on the day. Midfielder Trent Orr delivered a major second-half spark, scoring five goals, including two man-up tallies and the eventual game-winner in the third.

Pfeiffer's defense clamped down after halftime, holding Greensboro (8–2, 2–1) to just three goals over the final 30 minutes. Goalkeeper Korbin Hamilton recorded 13 saves in 57 minutes of action before Jackson Reese entered late and stopped the only shot he faced.

Greensboro was led by Alex Mattoon's three goals and two assists, while Alex Speckin and Riley Taff each added a pair of scores. The Pride generated 42 shots but struggled to solve Hamilton and were hampered by nine penalties, leading to six Pfeiffer man-up goals.

Pfeiffer will continue USA South play with a road trip to Methodist on Wednesday, March 25. Start time is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
