Pfeiffer Falls 5–2 at Home to Piedmont 

MISENHEIMER, N.C. (March 22, 2026) — Pfeiffer University picked up six singles victories but was unable to overcome an early doubles deficit in a 5–2 loss to Piedmont on Sunday at the Knapp Tennis Center.

Piedmont (10-4) secured the doubles point behind wins on Courts 1 and 3, taking a 1-0 lead into singles play.

Pfeiffer's Fanny Apostolou earned a straight-sets win on Court 2, defeating Brooklyn Bolch 6–4, 7–6 to put the Falcons on the board. Riley Isley added another home victory at No. 5 singles, cruising past Harriet Sloyan 6–1, 6–1.

The Falcons also picked up four singles wins in exhibition play. Kristen Colie, Aubrie Gatz, Anna Smith and Brianna Lail each claimed victories to round out a strong individual showing for Pfeiffer outside the main lineup.

Piedmont sealed the match with straight-set wins on Courts 1, 3 and 6, as well as a three-set victory from Caroline Morrison on Court 4. The Lions' depth proved decisive, handing Pfeiffer just its second loss of the season.

The Falcons will jump back into USA South play on Thursday, March 26 at 2:00 p.m. when they host Meredith College at the Knapp Tennis Center.
