OCEAN ISLE BEACH, N.C. — Pfeiffer University's men's golf team posted a strong showing at its home event, finishing fifth at the Pfeiffer Spring Invitational with a two-round score of 609 (+29) at Lion's Paw and Panther's Run Courses at the Ocean Ridge Plantation in Ocean Isle Beach, N.C.
Belmont Abbey's B team claimed the team title with a 595 (+15), while Bridgewater-A, Virginia Wesleyan-A and Virginia Wesleyan-B shared second at 604 (+24).
Pfeiffer's top performers were
Tyler Kepley and
Wyatt Reeder, who each finished in a tie for eighth at 150 (+5). Kepley opened with a 74 before adding a 76, while Reeder rebounded from a 77 to fire a 73 in Round 2.
Jonathan Lauritzen turned in a 155 (+10) to tie for 20th after a closing-round 75.
Hunt Jardina followed closely with a 156 (+11), tying for 22nd.
Brandon Allen added an 84–77 effort to tie for 35th at 161 (+16).
Pfeiffer's "B" squad also produced a competitive finish, placing sixth at 620 (+40).
Jackson Hedrick led the unit with a 153 (+8) to tie for 15th, followed by
Ryan McQuarrie and
Tatum North, who both tied for 17th at 154 (+9).
Individually, Belmont Abbey's Kellen Adickes won medalist honors with an even-par 145, one shot ahead of Virginia Wesleyan's Brady King.
