MISENHEIMER, N.C. (AP) — Pfeiffer University swept all six singles matches and secured the doubles point to earn a 7-0 Senior Day home victory over Brevard College on a warm Tuesday afternoon at the Knapp Tennis Center.
The Falcons (13-2, 2-0 USA South) asserted control early by winning two of three doubles matches to claim the opening point.
Jayden Wellman and
Valter Albuquerque cruised to a 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles, while
Laurin Rauer and
Bogdan Stan followed with a 6-0 shutout at No. 2 to clinch the doubles point.
Pfeiffer maintained momentum in singles play, recording straight-set victories on all six courts. Albuquerque powered past Ayden Montero 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, and
Aissultan Mukhambetov earned a 6-3, 6-1 decision over Noah Boyles at No. 2.
Wellman delivered a dominant performance at No. 3, defeating Nathan Bookout 6-0, 6-1, while Stan blanked Alexander Voss 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4.
Javier Robles Solis added a 6-0, 6-4 win at No. 5, and Rauer closed out the sweep with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 6.
Brevard (6-7, 1-1 USA South) was held without a singles win despite claiming one doubles match at No. 3. The Tornados' Caelan Byrd and Connor Sechrist earned a 6-2 victory over
Micah Potter and Robles Solis to prevent a doubles sweep
