MISENHEIMER, N.C. (Sept. 11, 2026) — Pfeiffer scored twice in the first half and added three goals in the opening four minutes after halftime to overwhelm Division II Shaw University 5-0 in a nonconference men's soccer match Friday at a blistering hot Lefko-Mills Field.
The Falcons remained unbeaten at 3-0 while handing the Bears their third loss of the season. Pfeiffer dominated possession and chances throughout the afternoon, outshooting Shaw 31-4 and holding a 12-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Senior
Jaiden Wright opened the scoring in the 15th minute, finishing a setup from
Drew Garro for his first goal of the season and a 1-0 Pfeiffer lead. The Falcons doubled the advantage late in the first half when freshman
Jefferson Paguada converted a pass from
Seydou Kone in the 41st minute.
Pfeiffer put the match out of reach immediately after the break.
Benji Landaverde scored just 1:04 into the second half, and less than three minutes later
Alex Michael converted a penalty kick to extend the lead to 4-0.
The Falcons capped the scoring in the 88th minute when
Tyler Ridley found the net for his second goal of the season.
Landaverde, Michael, Paguada, Ridley and Wright each scored once for Pfeiffer. Garro and Kone recorded assists, while the Falcons placed 14 shots on goal. Wright added an assist for a team-high two points, and Landaverde contributed a goal and an assist.
Goalkeeper
Seth Limbert made two saves in recording the shutout for Pfeiffer. Shaw's goalkeepers combined for seven saves, with Alessandro Martinez stopping five shots before leaving in the first half and Christoforos Theokli making two saves after intermission.
Pfeiffer had 31 shots while limiting Shaw to just two shots on target. The Bears fell to 0-3 on the season.
