LYNCHBURG, Va. (Sept. 15, 2026) — Pfeiffer scored twice in the final 18 minutes and remained unbeaten with a 2-0 nonconference men's soccer victory over Randolph on Tuesday night at WildCat Stadium. The win pushes Pfeiffer's unbeaten streak to 21 matches dating back to 2025.
The Falcons improved to 4-0 on the season after controlling play throughout the match, outshooting Randolph 14-4 and holding a 9-3 advantage in shots on goal.
After a scoreless first half, Pfeiffer continued to apply pressure in the opening minutes of the second period. The breakthrough finally came in the 73rd minute when
Barrett Owens found the back of the net for his second goal of the season, giving the Falcons a 1-0 lead at the 72:17 mark. The score stood as the game-winner.
The Falcons added an insurance goal with just over five minutes remaining.
Wesley Hooker, who finished with a team-high five shots and four shots on goal, scored in the 85th minute for his seventh goal of the season, extending the advantage to 2-0.
Pfeiffer generated consistent offensive pressure throughout the night, recording nine corner kicks and forcing Randolph goalkeeper Dominic Cortes to make seven saves. Hooker and Owens accounted for seven of the Falcons' 14 shots, while
Jaiden Wright added three attempts.
Defensively, the Falcons were equally strong. Junior goalkeeper
Seth Limbert made three saves, all in the first half, to secure the shutout. Randolph managed just one shot in the second half and was kept off the scoreboard for the first time this season.
Pfeiffer finished with a 9-3 edge in shots on goal and limited the Wildcats to only four total attempts.
The Falcons will return to play on Friday, Sept. 18 with a 5:00 p.m. match with Emory University in Atlanta, Ga.
