MISENHEIMER, N.C. (Sept. 11, 2026) — Pfeiffer controlled the attack for much of the afternoon but could not find a breakthrough Friday, settling for a scoreless draw against Division II Shaw in a nonconference women's soccer match at a brutally hot and humid Lefko-Mills Field.
The Falcons outshot the Bears 16-6 and held an 8-2 advantage in corner kicks, generating most of their offensive pressure during the second half. Despite the territorial edge, Pfeiffer was unable to get a shot past Shaw's goalkeeping tandem
Freshman
Jerusalen Gonzalez recorded four saves for Pfeiffer and earned her first shutout of the season. She made three stops in the opening half and added another after intermission to preserve the clean sheet.
Pfeiffer's best scoring chances came from
Lily Bido and
Quinn Branca, who each put two shots on target.
Macy Allred nearly broke the deadlock in the 63rd minute when her attempt struck the crossbar, while Branca forced saves from Shaw goalkeeper Olivia Ankrom in the 66th and 84th minutes.
Shaw split goalkeeping duties between Alexis Stephens and Ankrom. Stephens made three first-half saves before Ankrom stopped two shots over the final 45 minutes as the Bears secured their second consecutive shutout.
Pfeiffer finished with five shots on goal compared to four for Shaw. The Falcons now stand at 1-1-2 on the season, while the Bears moved to 1-3-1
