CARY, N.C. (Sept. 20,2026). — Pfeiffer University scored early and added a crucial second-half insurance goal Sunday afternoon to earn a 2-1 USA South women's soccer victory over William Peace University at WakeMed Soccer Park.
The Falcons improved to 2-2-2 overall and 1-0-0 in conference play with the road win, while the Pacers fell to 4-3-2 overall and 0-1-0 in the USA South.
Pfeiffer wasted little time getting on the scoreboard as senior
Khamani Spencer found the back of the net just 5:04 into the match, giving the Falcons a 1-0 advantage. The goal was Spencer's second of the season and capped a dominant opening stretch for Pfeiffer.
The Falcons controlled possession and consistently pressured the William Peace defense throughout the first half, outshooting the Pacers 10-1 before intermission. Despite generating several quality chances, Pfeiffer carried only the one-goal lead into halftime thanks to three first-half saves by William Peace goalkeeper Courtney Dugan.
Pfeiffer doubled its lead in the 61st minute when reserve midfielder
Corinne Browning scored the eventual game-winner just 16 seconds after entering the match.
Lily Bido assisted on the play as the Falcons moved in front 2-0 at the 60:35 mark.
William Peace answered in the 73rd minute when Hannah Torri converted a chance off an assist from Kerlyn Navarrete Trejos, cutting the deficit to 2-1 and setting up a tense final stretch.

Jerusalen Gonzalez made both of her saves in the second half and preserved the victory as William Peace searched for an equalizer.
Pfeiffer finished with a commanding 19-5 edge in shots, including a 10-3 advantage in shots on goal, and held a 9-1 margin in corner kicks. Spencer led the Falcons with three shots and one goal, while Browning scored on her lone shot of the match. Bido added an assist, and Gonzalez recorded two saves in goal.
William Peace goalkeeper Dugan kept the Pacers within striking distance throughout the afternoon, collecting eight saves.
