GREENSBORO, N.C. (Sept. 23, 2026) — Sophomore Kenzie Stewart scored the lone goal of the match early in the second half, and Pfeiffer remained unbeaten in USA South play with a 1-0 victory over rival Greensboro on Wednesday at Pride Field.

The Falcons improved to 3-2-2 overall and 2-0-0 in conference action, while the Pride fell to 3-3-2 overall and 1-1-0 in the USA South.

After a scoreless first half, Stewart broke through in the 49th minute, finding the back of the net at the 48:39 mark for her first goal of the season. The unassisted strike stood as the game-winner for the Falcons.

Pfeiffer controlled much of the offensive play, outshooting Greensboro 9-8 and holding a 6-1 advantage in shots on goal. The Falcons also earned five corner kicks compared to two for the Pride.

Goalkeeper Jerusalen Gonzalez recorded the shutout for Pfeiffer, making one save in 90 minutes. The Falcon defense limited Greensboro to just one shot on target and kept the Pride off the scoreboard throughout the contest.

Stewart led Pfeiffer with two shots, both on goal, while Corinne Browning, Quinn Branca, Kylie Scott and Melania Martinez each put attempts on frame. Greensboro goalkeeper Alyssa Lane finished with five saves to keep the match close.

The Falcons generated several quality chances before halftime, including saved efforts from Branca, Stewart and Browning, before finally breaking through shortly after the intermission.

With the victory, Pfeiffer secured its second consecutive USA South win and its third shutout of the season.

The Falcons will return to the friendly confines of Lefko-Mills Field on Saturday, Sept. 26 for a USA South match against N.C. Wesleyan.  Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
