| Misenheimer, NC---The Pfeifer baseball team swept a two game series from Georgia College and State to improve to 19-18 on the season.  On Tuesday afternoon the Falcons came from behind for a 12-6 win. The Falcons completed the sweep with a 3-2 win on Wednesday afternoon. The Bobcats jumped to a 6-0 lead going into the bottom of the fourth. Kyle McGarity scored on a Hunter Wyk double to put the Falcons on the board. McGarity singled in Bryan Braxton in the fifth to cut the Falcon defecit to 6-2. Pfeiffer sent 11 men to the plate in the bottom of the sixth as they scored five runs to take a 7-6 lead. Jodie Groce had a two run single to highlight the inning. The Falcons scored two more runs in the seventh and three in the eighth for the 12-6 win. Jacob Moore picked up the win in relief. Moore pitched 5 scoreless innnings giving up only three hits and striking out two.  On Wednesday the Falcons won 3-2. In the second Tyler Smith led off with a double and then scored on a Ryan Brown single to give Pfeiffer a 1-0 lead. Both starting pitchers shut down their opponents through seven innings as Pfeiffer still held their 1-0 advantage going into the eighth inning. Three singles and a sacrifice got the Bobcats the tieing run in the eighth. Pfeiffer came right back in the bottom of the inning with a run. Shawn Coke singled in Jodie Groce for the 2-1 Falcon lead. Georgia came back with a two out run in the ninth to tie the game at 2. With one out in the bottom of the ninth the Falcons loaded the bases on two walks and a fielder's choice. An error by th Bobcat third baseman on a ball hit by Jodie Groce allowed Tyler Smith to score the game winning run. Andrew Oliver picked yp the win in relief for the Falcons. Adam Sedberry pitched a great game for Pfeiffer while picking up a no decision. Sedberry went 7 and 1/3 innings while allowing only one run and striking out four |
