DUE WEST, S.C. -The Pfeiffer men's soccer team got two first half goals leading them to a 3-1 victory over Erskine on Saturday afternoon at Huggins Field in Conference Carolinas action. The Falcons improves to 7-3 overall, 4-1 in the conference moving into a second-place tie with Limestone. The Flying Fleet drop to 1-8-2, 0-5-1.
The Falcons Renato Barbosa scored 22 minutes into the game on an assist from Wilver Menacho. At 33:10, Johannes Tisell pushed the Falcons to a 2-0 lead which they took to halftime.
Erskine got on the board at 68:20 when Jack Kimber (Manchester, England) took a direct kick that Eric Moxley (Mountain Rest, SC) headed into the net to cut the margin to 2-1. The Fleet's comeback was thwarted at the 73:00 minute mark when Tisell struck again on an assist from Barbosa.
Pfeiffer got off 14 shots on the afternoon while the Fleet managed only six. Freshman goalie Devon Braykovich made 6 saves for Erskine on the afternoon.
Pfeiffer's men's soccer team gets back to action on Tuesday afternoon hosting the Barton Bulldogs in a Conference Carolinas match at 4:00 p.m.
