Kennedy Registers Eight Points as Women's Lacrosse Routs Lees-McRae 20-1

MISENHEIMER, N.C. - Pfeiffer's Jessica Kennedy had eight points with four goals and four assist as the Lady Falcons defeated the Lees-McRae College Bobcats, 20-1, Friday afternoon in a Conference Carolinas women's lacrosse game.

The Lady Falcons scored their first four goals in less than three minutes as Allie Gamble scored at the 27:04 mark. It was her third goal of the game and it came on Kennedy's second assist of the game.

Pfeiffer's lead hit 11 as Jessica Moulton scored a goal at with 20:08 left to play in the half to give Pfeiffer an 11-0 lead. The Lady Falcons scored 11 goals in less than ten minutes of play and ended the half with a 13-0 lead when Kennedy scored her third goal of the game.

After the half, Pfeiffer took the lead to 15-0 less than three minutes into action on two Kelley Cunningham goals. The Lady Falcon's final goal of the game came with 10:58 to play on Jessica Sundman's second goal of the game.

Lauren Martin would score the only Lees-McRae goal with 10:10 to play to give the game the final score of 20-1.

Martha Peacock made eight saves between the pipes in the loss, while Pfeiffer sent three ran three different goalies that combined for three saves.

Pfeiffer outshot the Lees-McRae 30-5 and won the groundball battle 24-16. Twenty-eight of Pfeiffer's 30 shots were on frame, 20 goals and eight saves by Peacock.

Pfeiffer held a slight draw control advantage 13-10, and were successful on 15 of their 20 clear attempts. Lees-McRae only converted seven of 22 clears.

Kelly Mendsen had a team-high four groundballs, Lexi King had four draw controls for Lees-McRae.

Trailing Kennedy for the Lady Falcons was Gamble, who had six total points on four goals and two assists. Four other Falcons had two goals: Jessica Moulton, Amanda Smith, Sundman and Cunningham. Moulton, Gamble and Tory Binder had two assists. Smith also had a team-high four draw controls, and Sarah Hebbard and Natalie Marvin had four groundballs.

Pfeiffer, who improves to 10-4 overall and 4-0 in the conference, will host Limestone on April 11th for their next game, while Lees-McRae, who slips to 1-8 overall and 1-3 in the conference, will host St. Andrews April 13th at 3 p.m. for their next game.
