Box Score

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - It took exactly 97 minutes of soccer but in the end, James Alexander's goal gave Queens a 1-0 victory of Pfeiffer University in Conference Carolinas men's soccer action on Tuesday night. The win moves the Royals to 3-1 overall, 2-0 in league play while the Falcons, playing their third overtime contest in four matches, fall in their league opener dipping to 0-3-1 overall.

In the extra session, Yannick Fischbach sent a pass from the right over to Alexander who found the back of the net inside the six-yard box for the game-winner. Queens took all three shots in the extra period.

A fairly quiet first half saw the Falcons out-shoot the Royals 5-2. Three Pfeiffer shots went high, one went wide and the only save of the period came off of a Boo Tesh (Kannapolis, NC) shot in the 14th minute.

Alex Moreno (Huntersville, NC) would make his first save of the night in the 66th minute of action turning away a Jeremy Chambers attempt. The Falcons final shot of the match came in the 72nd minute as Alex Landim (Brockton, MA) booted a shot above the cage.

Queens outshot Pfeiffer 12-3 in the second half as Moreno made a half-dozen saves on the night. The Falcons will return home on Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. matchup against visiting Erskine.
