MISENHEIMER, N.C. - A hat trick registered by Erskine's Andrew Settlemire led the visiting Flying Fleet to a 3-1 victory over Pfeiffer University in Conference Carolinas men's soccer on Saturday afternoon. The match was delayed for 80 minutes due to storms in the area. Erskine improves to 4-3-2 overall, 3-1-1 in league play while the Falcons drop to 0-9-1, 0-5.

Pfeiffer immediately grabbed momentum in the first minute of play as Jamie Sanclemente sent a cross over to the head of Dale Ashford who found the back of the net just 60 seconds in for a 1-0 lead. The Falcons would carry that lead into the half until Settlemire got going in the 49th minute.

Just 3:52 into the second, Settlemire put home his first on an assist from Jonathan Clark. Later in the 63rd minute, Settlemire collected a rebounded shot by teammate Jonathan Rutter converting the eventual game-winner. Settlemire finished his day with an insurance-providing header in the 78th minute.

Erskine held a 24-16 shots advantage, 13-8 on goal. Each team recorded a half-dozen corner kicks while the Fleet were whistled for a pair of offsides. Zach Liles would turn away 10 shots in goal for the Falcons.

Next up for Pfeiffer will be a non-league matchup at Francis Marion at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday night.
