Moar's Career Night Leads No. 1 Falcons to 18th Straight Regular Season Win

Box Score

DUE WEST, S.C. - The No. 1 Pfeiffer men's soccer team (13-0, 7-0 CC) scored four unanswered goals en route to a 4-1 victory at Erskine (4-7-2, 2-3-2) on Saturday night. Santi Moar scored twice as the Falcons extended their regular season winning streak to 18 in a row. Pfeiffer has not lost a regular season match in over a year as their last defeat was a 3-0 decision at Barton on Oct. 16, 2014.

"We were very flat in the first half and fell behind," commented Coach Reasso. "We were tremendous in the second half. Martim got us going with a great goal and Santi added a pair. I'm not happy with the first half but we were exceptional in the second half. We will take it and move on."

The Flying Fleet struck in the 21st minute as Ross Henderson beat goalkeeper Tomas Correa to give Erskine the advantage. The last time Pfeiffer trailed in a match was when they were behind 1-0 against Limestone seven games ago. The Falcons shook off the sluggish start in the 42nd minute when standout Nathan Regis knotted the game with his 16th strike of the season with the assist going to Moar.

Pfeiffer surged out of the break and took full control of the match. Just 2:39 into the final frame, Martim Galvao scored the game-winner. Moar would seal the victory with back-to-back goals in a 5:06 span, the second coming on a sliding attempt, to put Pfeiffer ahead by three. The two goals and five points were career highs for the sophomore from Ordes, Spain.

Pfeiffer held a 16-7 advantage in shots and only allowed three shots on goal. Correa, making his third consecutive start in place of injured keeper Nicolas Dulac, made two saves to improve to 4-0 on the year.

With the win, Pfeiffer improves to 13-5-2 overall against Erskine since 1998. Additionally, Pfeiffer remains one of just two teams in the nation who are unbeaten or untied on the year.

The Falcons return to action on Wednesday night as they host Emmanuel at 7 p.m. in their final regular season home match of the year.
