MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. - The No. 2 Pfeiffer men's soccer team (10-0, 5-0 CC) tied a 21 year old record with their 10th consecutive win as the Falcons defeated Mount Olive (7-3, 5-1) by a final score of 2-0 on Wednesday evening. Nathan Regis and Santi Moar tallied goals for the Falcons who tie the 1994 mark of most consecutive wins in a season.

The win gives Pfeiffer sole possession of first place in the Conference Carolinas standings and moves the Falcons closer to clinching a regular season title. In the victory, the Falcons posted their fourth consecutive shutout and have gone 253:02 without allowing a goal.

Moar scored the game-winner in the 53rd minute as his shot from 20 yards out beat the Trojan goalkeeper. 16 minutes later, Regis scored his 13th goal of the season off an assist from Jaime Siaj to secure the victory. Regis entered play tied for second in the nation in goals scored and continues to be one of the most dangerous scorers in Division II.

However, the game experienced a significant delay as Pfeiffer keeper Nicolas Dulac suffered a scary injury early in the contest.

"It was a hard foul on Dulac," said Head Coach Bob Reasso. "I want to thank the Mount Olive training staff and athletic department for how they handled the situation. It was an emotional win but I wish we could have won with Nicolas on the field."

Tomas Correa played the final 77:10 in goal and made three saves.

Pfeiffer outshot Mount Olive 17-6, including a 10-3 margin in the second half. In the first half, Mount Olive's Cooper Gaypia got his second yellow of the contest and was sent off the field.

Nick Bernsdorf fell to 5-2 in net for the Trojans as he made eight saves.

Pfeiffer can break the record for longest unbeaten streak on Saturday night as they host Belmont Abbey at 7 p.m.
