CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The No. 11 Pfeiffer women's lacrosse team (0-1) suffered a 17-9 loss at No. 17 Queens (1-0) in each team's 2015 season opener. The Royals held a 38-13 advantage in shots and scored 11 second half goals to earn the victory.

Kristi Korn and Cheyenne Green recorded hat tricks as the duo accounted for two-thirds of the team's scoring on the day. Jacqueline Kennedy and Chalane Morrison were the other goal scorers for the Falcons, while Gracie Herbert finished with two assists.

Jena Ready led the Royals with four goals and added an assist. Ready was one of four Royals to score at least three goals in the contest.

Korn and Kennedy each finished with three draw controls and Erika Mackenzie recorded two caused turnovers. Pfeiffer turned the ball over 18 times, compared to just nine by the hosts.

Green started the Falcons off as she scored just 40 seconds into the game off a pass from Herbert to give the Falcons the early lead. The Royals would answer with four straight before Korn and Green each scored to cut the deficit to 4-3. Queens would score the final two goals of the half to run out to a 6-3 lead.

Green scored early to start the second half as well as her unassisted score came just 25 seconds in. Kennedy's first of the day cut Queens lead to 6-5 but the Royals would score six of the next seven goals. After Korn scored at the 19:33 mark to cut the lead to 12-7, Queens would rebound to score five straight to put the game out of reach.

The Falcons look toward Conference Carolinas play with a league battle on Saturday as they host Converse at 11:30 a.m.
