DAHLONEGA, GA - The Pfeiffer baseball team (2-3) dropped the first game of a three game series at North Georgia (1-1) on Friday night. The Nighthawks scored the first two runs of the game en route to a 4-2 victory.
Anthony Allende and Zach Scudder each hit solo home runs for the Falcons who outhit North Georgia 10-9 on the night. Allende produced three hits and Scudder had two as the duo account for half of the team's knocks.
Ethan Greene went five innings and allowed two earned runs to fall to 1-1 on the season. Brandon Agar scattered eight hits in five innings to earn his first win of the season for the Nighthawks.
North Georgia tallied single runs in the first and second inning off Greene before the junior hurler notched three straight scoreless innings. Trailing 2-0, Scudder launched a solo shot to center field to cut North Georgia's lead in half in the top of the 4th.
The Falcons put their first two runners on base in the top of the fifth as they threatened to tie the game but Agar wiggled out of the jam.
The hosts pushed across two runs on three hits and one error in the seventh inning to extend the lead to 4-1 before Allende led off the eighth inning with his blast down the left field line. However, Pfeiffer wouldn't be able to get any closer as Josh Bryan pitched four innings to earn his first save of the season.

Izzy Perez added two hits for Pfeiffer and Hunter Jobe tossed a scoreless inning of relief.
The two teams will be back in action tomorrow afternoon at 2 p.m. for the second game of the series.ÂÂ
