DUE WEST, S.C. - The Pfeiffer women's lacrosse team (4-3, 3-0 CC) dominated Erskine (1-7, 1-5) on Tuesday afternoon, coming away with a 20-0 victory. 11 different players recorded a goal in the victory, led by four first half goals by Jacqueline Kennedy. The shutout was Pfeiffer's first since blanking Lees-McRae 23-0 on Feb. 22, 2012.
The Falcons held a 35-6 advantage in shots and forced Emmanuel into 19 turnovers. Pfeiffer's Savannah Phillips, Erika Mackenzie, Kayla Bedwell, Kristi Korn and Angela Fratantuono each recorded two goals. Anna Rulapaugh, Haley Gourdie, Delaney Miller, Gracie Herbert, Kylie Lode and Bedwell each handed out two assists on the day.
The 20 goals scored were a season high for Pfeiffer and the most since scoring 22 against Lees-McRae last season.
In the opening half, Pfeiffer held a 22-4 advantage on shots en route to a 12-0 lead at the half. Kennedy scored three goals in a 9:24 span of the first half to give the Falcons an early 5-0 lead. The freshman would tack on her fourth of the period with just 16 seconds to go.
The onslaught continued in the second frame with Pfeiffer scoring four times in the first 5:34.
For the game, Pfeiffer held a 24-21 advantage in ground balls and dominated draw controls, 19-3.
Cassidy Wilson played the first 30 minutes in net to earn the save after making three saves. Rachel McCarthy and Rachel James each saw action in goal during the second half.
Due to injuries, the Flying Fleet were forced to play short one player for the majority of the contest.
The Falcons look to continue the momentum with a matchup against North Greenville on Saturday at noon.
